Our Story

Built on Skill, Not on Years

Founded in 2021, Colemans Steel began as Coleman's Welding & Fabrication — a small team of coded welders with a clear vision: deliver precision metalwork without compromise. From our workshop at Junction Mills on Tong Road in Leeds, we've grown into a full-service metal fabrication company serving commercial and residential clients across West Yorkshire and beyond.

Every piece that leaves our workshop carries our name. That's a responsibility we take seriously. We don't cut corners, we don't use off-the-shelf solutions, and we don't make promises we can't keep.

Our coded welders bring years of individual trade experience to every project. We hold BS EN ISO 9606 certification for fusion welding, BS 4872 fabrication approval, and City & Guilds 2222 qualifications.

What We Stand For

Our Values

Precision

Every cut, every weld, every finish is measured twice and executed once. Our coded welders work to British Standards because precision isn't optional — it's foundational.

Integrity

We tell you what we can do, what we can't, and what it will cost. No hidden charges, no inflated timelines, no claims we can't back up.

Craftsmanship

We don't just fabricate steel — we shape it. Every project is bespoke, made to measure, and built to last. From concept to completion, our name is on every piece.

Our Certifications

Certifications & Standards

We display only the certifications we hold. Transparency builds trust.

Certified

BS EN ISO 9606 — Coded Welding

This is the international standard for approval testing of welders performing fusion welding. It means our welders have been independently tested and certified to produce welds that meet strict quality and safety requirements. Coded welding certification is required for any work where weld integrity is critical.

Certified

BS 4872 — Fabrication Approval Testing

This British Standard covers approval testing for welders working on general fabrication. It certifies that our fabrication processes and welder competence meet the requirements for producing reliable, consistent metalwork across a range of applications and materials.

Certified

City & Guilds 2222 — Welding Skills

The Level 2 Award in Welding Skills is a nationally recognised qualification demonstrating practical competence across welding techniques. It covers MIG, TIG, and MMA welding processes, ensuring our team has verified hands-on capability.

In Progress

CHAS — Health & Safety Accreditation

Currently completing our CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) accreditation. CHAS is recognised across the construction and manufacturing sectors as evidence of health and safety compliance, helping our commercial clients meet their supply chain requirements.

Active

Insurance Coverage

Fully insured: public liability, employer's liability, and professional indemnity. Our insurance documentation is available on request for commercial clients and project managers who require evidence of cover.

We display only the certifications we hold. As we gain new accreditations, they'll appear here.

The Team

Built on Experience

Our team's individual certifications and years of trade experience are what set us apart.

Why a Modern Fabricator?

  • Experience Where It Counts
Our welders have years of individual trade experience. Certifications don't care about company age — they test skill. Every one of our team is independently coded and qualified to British Standards.
  • Modern Workshop, Current Methods
Modern workshop. Current certifications. Latest fabrication techniques. No legacy systems, no complacent attitudes. We invest in equipment and training because standing still means falling behind.
  • No Shortcuts, No Compromise
Every project earns our reputation. We don't have decades of goodwill to coast on — every weld, every finish, every installation has to be right. That's a higher standard, not a lower one.
  • Reputation Built One Project at a Time
A company still building its name has the strongest motivation to deliver exceptional work. We're not resting on reputation — we're earning it, every day, on every job.
Steel, Shaped Right.
