3. Quotations

  • All quotations are subject to site survey and are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
  • Prices quoted are exclusive of VAT unless explicitly stated otherwise.
  • Quotations are based on information provided at the time of enquiry. Changes to specifications may result in revised pricing.
  • A quotation does not constitute a contract until formally accepted in writing by both parties.

4. Services and Fabrication

  • All metalwork is fabricated to the specifications provided by the client or the client's structural engineer/architect.
  • Final compliance with Building Regulations is subject to the overall building design and is confirmed through Building Control approval.
  • Lead times are estimated and subject to project complexity, material availability, and workshop capacity.
  • We reserve the right to subcontract specialist elements (e.g., galvanising, powder coating) where necessary.

5. Payment Terms

  • Payment terms will be agreed in writing before work commences.
  • For larger projects, stage payments may be required (typically: deposit on order, progress payment, balance on completion).
  • Late payment may incur statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
  • We accept payment by bank transfer and cash.

6. Cancellations

If you wish to cancel an order after acceptance, costs incurred up to the point of cancellation (including materials purchased and work completed) will be charged. Bespoke fabricated items cannot be returned or refunded as they are made to your specification.

7. Warranties

We warrant that all fabrication work will be carried out with reasonable skill and care, using materials of satisfactory quality. Specific warranty periods will be detailed in your quotation or contract. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, modification, or failure to maintain the metalwork as advised.

8. Liability

  • Our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the value of the relevant contract.
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, revenue, or business opportunity.
  • Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

9. Intellectual Property

All designs, drawings, and specifications created by Colemans Steel remain our intellectual property until full payment is received. They may not be reproduced, shared, or used by third parties without our written consent.

10. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including (but not limited to) severe weather, supply chain disruptions, industrial action, or government restrictions.

11. Privacy

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
